AUDIO CUTS
Sorry everyone! This is not the full song, it’s only the cuts in Mandarin and Korean that I downloaded. But this song is just too amazing to not have on my blog! Especially Exo M’s version with Chen and Lu Han! Chen has to be one of the most amazing vocalists I’ve ever heard!
The song is rumored to be on the full album that will be out this summer. So be patient! It’s a coming soon!!!

First Impression:
I am. Not exactly sure how I feel about this drama. I absolutely love the plot line, the idea of it seems like a complete ride, but after the reading a couple of recaps of it, I am having some mixed feelings.
By just the first episode I would have to say, I’m nibbling. The bait tastes oh so good. Yoo Seung Ho is just, so lovely to look at and Park Eun Bin (is also lovely to look at) character seems like I would really end up loving her. The drama is based of a manga and does have already have a Japanese version, so it’s somewhat of a relief to know that they have two things to play off. But I’ve seen many a remakes go wrong.
I can already see that the drama is going to give us a lot of sweet endearing moments between the main couple, but it’s the whole time switching, past and present, thing I’m somewhat conflicted about. And to be completely honest, I feel like I’m about to get some serious whiplash from all the time traveling in dramalandia. The one downside with Korean dramas, they all like to do the same thing at the same time! Idol Pop type shows, Vampire shows, there was the Gumiho phase, it seems like now time travel is all the rage.
All that aside, I still can’t get past the main lead. It kinda tickles me that it’s from a male perspective. But… His character, for me, has the potential to be annoying. For example the scene were he repeatedly asks the conductor if time travel is possible. Yes, I understand that any normal question would repeatedly question, but for the sake of the drama, I really had to sick past that part. The thing I hate most is when misunderstandings in dramas drag on and I feel like this drama is a likely candidate to fall under that spell. BUT! Yoo Seung Ho sells this character so well! That moment where he’s reading the letter and starts bawling, ah, I was sobbing with him. Even better though, was when he was giving the congratulatory speech, it’s like you could feel his heart breaking into a thousand pieces, and yours was too right along with him…
And then there’s plot, can I just take a moment to really express my love for the plot. I’ve heard of the Japanese version with Yamapi, but never got down to watching it. There’s something about stories that delve into philosophical life questions that really pulls me in. What if there were do overs? How would my life be different if I went back and changed one thing? And is it worth taking the risk?
However, I know best that you can’t judge a drama from Episode 1. I say that a lot don’t I? But it’s true. I’m not sure exactly how committed I am to this drama. But I think I’ll at least adventure on to Episode 2.
If you’ve watched this drama, or the Japanese version, be sure to reply or hit my ask with your thoughts!

Cable drama Panda and Hedgehog serves up sweet romance

Despite having a pretty dismal track record for drama programming, cable station Channel A is giving it another shot with Panda and Hedgehog, a series starring Super Junior idol-turned-actor Donghae and Yoon Seung-ah (The Moon That Embraces the Sun).
It’s a “sweet, lively” romantic comedy where our panda and hedgehog are metaphors for our couple’s personalities, which means Ms. Panda is peaceful and plodding, while Mr. Hedgehog is prickly and sharp (Donghae will even sport spiky hair to make the hedgehog analogy complete—yunno, in case you don’t get it). So, it’s basically every rom-com setup ever, just with new symbology.
There isn’t a lot of information about the actual plot, but it appears to involve cakes and bakeries of some sort. Third wheel Choi Jin-hyuk (I Need Romance) has also been cast, and he’ll play the gyopo (educated abroad) president of “Korea’s top cake franchise,” Saint-Honoré. Just one of these days, couldn’t we have some businessman own a franchise that isn’t the best in the whole nation? One that just does okay, maybe?

Choi’s character looks like your typical prince type, but harbors resentment against his parents (a vaguely described “feeling of betrayal”), which has made his personality cold. But once he meets Ms. Panda, he’ll start displaying bits of aegyo, which should be an interesting combination—cold and distant, mixed with cutesy and affectionate.
Panda and Hedgehog plans to air in July.

More Big

…which sounds like terrible English, but is not. In this case, at least!
I know, there seems to be a TON of promo material about Big and maybe it’s veering on overload, and maybe I just want to see the damn show already instead of getting more stills. But then again, it’s not like I’m going to just NOT post them, am I? So here we go….
Posted above is the new character poster, featuring our Big star (hur hur—so many Big jokes, so little time) Gong Yoo in the center. Flanking him are his dual love interests, Lee Min-jung on the left as his grown-up fiancée, and Suzy as the teenager his body-hijacker loves.
Speaking of whom, Shin Won-ho is at right, as the 18-year-old soul that gets stuck in the Big body. (He’s a new face from Bachelor Vegetable Store and has been recently called a Song Joong-ki doppelganger, though I think he’s more like a cross between Song Joong-ki and L.) And at far left is Jang Hee-jin, who has never played a character I have liked (Myung-wol the Spy, What’s Up). I’m pretty sure it’s because of her, not her roles, but I’m willing to give her another shot in the midst of such winning castmates.

Then, above we have a couple of new stills of Gong Yoo, which basically reiterates the main sight gag and entire point of this show: Adult hottie playing the juvenile is both hot and adorable.
I mean, that’s essentially the point of all the character stills below, right? There are a few where Gong Yoo is dressed and posing as a normal-looking adult man (well, incredibly GOOD-looking, but normal), and then there are the rest that show him acting like a puppy-boy. He’s wearing a three-piece suit and hugging a Gundam action figure? Gah, that kills me. It’s like I’m all primed to bust a gut laughing, and I just need the actual show to push me over the edge. Make me laugh, Big! I’m all ready t’rip!
Big premieres in just over a week, on June 4.

My Review:
This manga saddens me. Why? Well simply because I know that most people haven’t heard of it. And it’s so DARN GOOD! I’m almost positive most people who read manga know of Vampire Knight, Hino Matsuri’s more famous work, but for me personally I absolutely loved Meru Puri!
The art is lovely and the plot was something I’ve never read before. A cute 10 year old boy transforms into a sexy 17 year old in the absence of light? Come on now… I know you’re tempted.
I loved how quickly this manga moved along, I find that it’s very easy for shorter manga’s to either drag on or simply turn shallow. But this manga did none of those things.
Let me just express how much I love this manga: I put in on my itouch to read on my way up to Vegas last year.

Today… I updated all my drama news and edited some tags.
Tomorrow I need to do some serious editing of my drama list… I think the last drama I have on there is City Hunter! But it doesn’t feel like I’ve been watching that many dramas since then….
Anyway just a heads up I might be spamming your dash with some reviews tomorrow.
Sorry though everyone… I’m trying to make up for all the times I didn’t post during school….
